This past weekend was one of those wonderful times full of fraternal fellowship. Hella Shrine was invited to hang out at the Scottish Rite Temple and conduct a short form ceremony for those newly made Scottish Rite Masons that were interested. And there was quite a bit of interest!
On July 24, the Hella Divan was invited to the Third Day of the Scottish Rite Re. The Divan members talked to 35 new Scottish Rite Masons, many of which were already Shriners. Even after the long days that these brothers had been through, twelve men wanted to become nobles of the mystic Shrine. Eleven of them joined Hella, and one was a courtesy initiation for Sharon Temple. It was great to see so many men interested in the Shrine!
We expect to put these new Shriners to work immediately. They have all been invited to join the August 19th Open Meeting to meet Jimmy Kelly and one of our burn patients from teh Galveston Hospital, as part of our Bucket Drive Hospital Fund Kick Off. We will have another short form ceremony before this meeting just in case some more Masonic brothers want to get in on the fun we have here at Hella Shrine.
A very special "Thank You" goes out to Ill. M. Doug Adtkin, Herbert "Buck" Howard and Steve Gooch for their kind invitation and warm introductions to the Scottish Rite Class. We hope to do it again real soon!
